Radley Open (Track) 1500M
I hit the track today at the Radley Open (at Tilsley Park) to take on the 800m and 1500m for the first time. The aim was to see what I could do and set myself benchmarks for the summer open races at Horspath.

Hastings Half marathon
If you like a challenge in a great setting on the coast this is well worth entering. The race is very hilly, both steep and long (the course is good training for Snowdonia or similar marathons / race types). This year’s race took us up hill for around 5 miles into a 20 mph headwind and -7c windchill (the mini beast from the east), then undulating around the north of the town before a fantastic decent into the old town and a two mile flat finishing stretch heading west along the seafront.
Cold though it might have been his was a good “warm up” for the Brighton Marathon, which will be the first of my three charity the marathon runs in 2018. I would definitely recommend this race not least for the excellent organisation and great atmosphere with crowds of supporters, bands, DJ sets and families handing out jelly babies all around the course.

After the Beast from the East (part 1) spoiled our inaugural Witney Parkrun plans, we were delighted to finally go live with our first event last Saturday 10th March with our second following yesterday on 17th .
So far, feedback from participants has been incredibly positive. We have a tough course – but hopefully a fun course! – which is almost all off road and currently very, very muddy indeed! Right now, double-tied trail shoes or old trainers you are happy to get muddy are a must. It’s certainly not looking like a PB course and most participants are 2-3 minutes off their 5k PBs.
We’re incredibly grateful to all WRR members – including a few juniors – who participated in the Week 0 test event, who have volunteered in not-very-spring-like conditions, and who have joined in our early events.
If you would like to volunteer at any future events, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
with your availability.
If you haven’t run yet, we hope to see you soon!
