Witney Roadrunners has been established for over 30 years. We now have approximately 200 members – male and female, juniors and adults.
We’re a friendly group of local runners who meet up for regular training sessions and races. We also have a variety of social events including:
- Christmas party
- ladies/lads nights out
- London Marathon trip
- Snowdon Marathon trip
- events with other local running clubs
In doing this, we attract different members for different reasons – those wanting to run races, those wanting to run just for fun on a Thursday night, members who want to meet others and expand their social life and so on.
Beginners
If you are new to running or lacking in confidence we recommend a local running group led by a UK Athletics coach and WRR member who can help to get you going and give you the confidence to come along to the Witney Roadrunners.
Run England Cogges
We are a group of mixed ability runners who meet at the corner of the Leys closest the little toilet block ready to run at 7pm every Tuesday.
Sessions are led by Dan, a UK Athletics qualified coach, last about 1 hour and are free.
The sessions are managed so that everyone can work at their own speed whilst keeping the group close together and Dan will always run (or walk) with whoever wants to go slowest.
The best way to understand how the sessions work and how friendly the group are is to come along to a session. You’ll be surprised at what you can achieve!
A number of the group are now members of Witney Road Runners so it’s a great way to learn more about the club too.
