The AGM was held on Thursday 22nd March at the Windrush Leisure Centre, and was attended by around 40 members. Chairman John McCormac reflected on another successful year for the Club. Tony Lock gave an illuminating synopsis of the achievements of the Junior division. Unfortunately Mike Miles was unwell and unable to attend.
Richard Stockting gave a rundown of the Clubs finances, declaring himself “comfortable” with the situation, much to Johns relief.
Lyn brought two proposals to the membership in order to tidy up some technical details. One was to rationalise the use of the correct Witney Roadrunners name, rather than the incorrect Witney Road Runners. Secondly the Constitution required amending to reflect the fact we had changed our club kit during the last twelve months.
Finally, Steve Hopkins brought a proposal regarding the Life Presidency. No change had been made since Vernon Blowfield passed away in February 2017, as a mark of respect to his memory and contribution to the Club founding in 1985.
The proposal was passed unanimously by the membership and so our Club Roll of Honour now reads….
President of Witney Roadrunners.….Vernon Blowfield
Honorary Life Presidents
Honorary Life Vice Presidents
Congratulations to Martin and Jan on their new titles, it is a worthy reward for the influence they have had on the running community in Witney through founding our Club way back in 1985.
