WITNEY ROAD RUNNERS

Not Parkrun Fun

Published on 6th September 2020 by web editor

I’m aware that I’ve probably posted too many times on Facebook/Twitter on the subject of Not Parkrun.

But I must say a big thank you to the Witney Roadrunners for helping get the Parkrun community exercising and talking to each other again.

With Dan and Tamsyn we set out to achieve 100 in a week. Well we have smashed the record for the most Not Parkrunner’s and Not Parkrun’s completed one a week.

As I sit writing this we are second on the UK leader board with 185 so far this week.
In the last 3 weeks I’ve danced with Mrs C, been on Radio Oxford and interviewed for the Free Weekly Parkrun Podcast. Perhaps being played this coming Friday.

It’s been a wonderful period in my life. I’ve even got a hashtag #norunningcrabby.

I know I keep saying thank you.

Finally the last few weeks seeing the club out training together and taking photos gives me such a buzz. Rounding off with Me walking the Cotswold Classic with a running group chasing me over 10 miles. I absolutely loved it. At the end felt included in that post run chat.
Funny for a Walker I’ve fallen back in love with running or I think it must be my club mates.

I’m looking forward to Thursday evening.

Take care and be proud of what we’ve all achieved during this difficult period.

Best wishes Happy Old Crabby.
