Nominations are now open for the 2023 club awards. These will be presented at the Christmas Party and the categories are as follows –
Most Improved Female & Male Newcomers
These awards are for the runners who completed their first full racing season with WRR this year (1st November 2022 – 31st October 2023) and you think have improved most over that year. This means that any member who joined between 1st November 2021 and 31st October 2022 is eligible for this award. Don’t worry, you don’t have to figure out who that is – we’ve included the list of eligible members in the nomination form for you! See notes on Most improved below to see what you might think about for criteria…
Most Improved Female & Male
These awards are for the runners who you think have improved the most over the past year.
You can consider ‘Most Improved’ for any runner anywhere in the racing field – have you noticed someone take a significant chunk from their finish times and regularly PB across the season, or have they stepped up from coming in top 20 to top 10 (or even podium!) finishes. It can also be someone who has increased the distances they run, complete their first half, full or ultra marathon. If you’ve been reading the newsletter, that will help to keep an eye on what everyone is doing … and for those racing, sending in your notes about Personal Bests or Season’s Best to be included in the results, it’s important here to share with the rest of the club – not everyone will know your running history!
Danielle Basson Unsung Hero Award
Someone within the club who you think has done a lot for the club over the last year – it might be one big thing or lots of little things to contribute to Witney Roadrunners and our members.
Please use the form here to submit your votes before midday on the 7th November.
