Thank you to all of you who have stepped forward to Lyn’s call for volunteers. We’re now happy that we will be able to provide the usual high standard of safety and atmosphere to the 460 entrants of the Cotswold Classic this year.
There’s still a chance to get involved, just let Lyn know if you are available to help on the day.
A big thank you to Steve, Tamsyn, Regina & Dave, Luke, Bertie, Sally & Fraser, Sharon & Paul and Kevin & Jack for making light work of the leaflet drop to forewarn residents on the course yesterday. It meant we were done within the hour.
Club run of the Cotswold Classic course
Given that so many club members volunteer to help on Cotswold Classic race day it is tradition to do a social club run around the course the Saturday before, 28th August, to give everyone that wants to an opportunity to run the fundulating course!
This run also helps to be a recce of the course to highlight any new or unexpected challenges out there. The run will set off from the “IN” entrance of the council office car park on New Yatt Road (https://w3w.co/boating.diplomas.cuff) at 10am – this isn’t quite the new start line but not far off! The school is closed so you won’t be able to finish in the school – just carry on past the school to clock your 10 miles.
I’m on Run Director duty at Witney parkrun so unfortunately won’t be able to join you but will try to catch you for the last couple of miles. John isn’t able to cycle the course with you now so make sure you look after each other and don’t leave anyone behind. We’ll create a Spond event so you can see the course and let people know if you plan on running.
