Another week in our perpetual “will it ever end” lockdown, with the faintest hint of a flicker of light at the end of the very long dark tunnel.
Hats off to the organising team who once again came up with ideas to keep us motivated, we had 33 runners this week, down from last week, it seems you all like the team events, so hopefully they will come up with some more. I did hear a whisper of a virtual Eynsham challange, if it can happen, I am sure “The Organising Committee” will make it happen. (That’s their official title). On that subject, let’s not lose sight of the fact, this is done for FUN, its NOT the Olympics, the chip timing machine is broken, the stop watches have stopped, its down to them to sort, so if your time is wrong, or you didn’t get the result you wanted…. Ah Well……move on……
Special mention to Chris (I never win anything) Miles and Judith Le Good for their “Goody bag” suggestions..Brilliant. See WRR Facebook!
We are all waiting for guidelines from England Athletics for our next move, and the thorny question of running together albeit with “social distancing”, no one is sure, there are so many conflicting versions, but until there is a definitive, be careful about running together.
Once again take care of yourselves but more importantly your fellow runner, buddy, training partner. Stay in touch, I cannot stress this enough, please seek out your friends and make sure they are OK, just a phone call or text makes a huge difference.
Stay safe
