This years event is on Sunday 28th June. Hooray!! Doesn’t clash with Fathers Day!! Boo!!! Clashes with the Thame 10K!!
I have already contacted all the members who competed last year and asked them if they would like to take part in this years event.
Could I ask you all to take a good long hard look at yourselves and ask the burning question….Am I HARD? Am I made of the RIGHT STUFF? Am I TUFF ENUFF, to take on this challenge? Of course you are!!!!
If you meet all these requirements and don’t want to have talcum powder poured over you for being a WUSS, then please get in touch with me ASAP to get your name down for the MEGA team event of the year.
Brief description, 87 miles North to South along Britains oldest road, The Ridgeway. Apparently Walkers named their Ridge crisps after it, as in the winter the walking is always Crisp and Crunchy underfoot. Believe that and you’ll believe anything.
Starts at Ivinghoe Beacon, finishes at Marlborough Sports Centre.
10 legs, shortest 5.4 miles, longest 11 miles. Early legs through woods and stuff, later legs, elevated with fab views across V o WH. Most legs tough, lots of climbing, difficult path to follow at times, so recconnoitring will be required so you don’t get lost.
Do 1 or more legs. Only one counter per leg, but can have Buddy runners. Club plans to enter 2 teams like last year but depends on numbers. Everyone will get a run, either as a counter or as a Buddy.
Start at 7am, finish around 5.30pm. After race party at the Griffin in the evening. Fantastic day out.
Quite possible to do Thame 10k AND Ridgeway, if you commit to a later leg.
Much Much more to it than this, but that information will only be released once you have signed up!
Come on! Email me on stevehopkins6@yahoo.co.uk, or phone me on my Ridgephone 07885 463045….you know you want to! If you have particular requirements like timings or distance preferred, or running companions, please let me know that as well.
Cheers, Steve Hopkins
