As you all know, we introduced Spond to help us with managing COVID-19 requirements as we returned to running.
We’ve seen other benefits as well, such as making it easier to welcome new members joining the club on their first session and ensure they’ve got a group to run with, ensuring everyone can see the planned routes for the run, helping keep similar paced runners together and preventing someone ending up in ‘no mans land’ between groups, and it’s a good route of progression to move up/down groups as you need to based on fitness or injury.
We will be continuing with Spond as a way of managing club sessions, but don’t need to continue checking people in quite so meticulously. Please do continue to update your attendance, and if you know that someone from your group hasn’t arrived as it’s nearing 7pm, please let either Bertie, Lindsey or Regina know so that we are aware and can check for late messages.
In case any members aren’t aware, Spond is also used as one of our communications tools between the committee and members, and between members themselves.
We will put other events up, not just the Tues/Thurs sessions – for example the Cotswold Classic Marshal request. We can use it for social events, you can use it to arrange lifts to races and we will use it for the Winter XC season – it’s a great tool and helps keep us connected, especially for those members who may not be on social media.
Please do keep an eye on your Spond notifications and check what’s happening. We will of course continue with other forms of communication:
