John Rose was born in the 1950s and throughout his life lived in Carterton and Witney.
He was a talented footballer (for Burnham) and a cricketer (for Shipton-u-Wychwood). At that historic first Witney Roadrunners club session in January 1986, John was there with his wife and daughters and remained a supporter of the club until his untimely death from Cancer in August 1988.This trophy is awarded to the man and woman who have achieved the fastest average mile time over 5 miles, 10K, 10 miles, Half Marathon, a 15 mile or 20 mile race and a full Marathon over the 12 month period running from the 1st November to 31st October each year.If you have completed in all of the above this past year then you are in with a chance of winning!
