WITNEY ROAD RUNNERS

The Oxfordshire XC season is back!

Published on 6th October 2019 by web editor

The Oxfordshire XC season is back!

The series is open to all and is great fun.

For those who have not competed before, sign up and have a try – it’s like Mota-vation with all the Oxfordshire clubs participating but often colder and wetter and not on tarmac.

There are five races that take place the first Sunday in the month from November through to March in various locations around Oxfordshire (the men race at 11:20 and ladies 12:00).

No specialist equipment is necessary all you need is to be a fully paid up member of the club and England Athletics with a Witney vest (you can check your EA number here: https://myathletics.englandathletics.org/licencecheck/).

Dates for the 2019/20 Season

November 3rd Bicester
December 1st Cirencester Park
January 5th Bo Peep Caravan Park – Adderbury *combined OXL/Oxon XC Championships fixture
February 2nd Lawns Park, Swindon
March 1st Henley Showground

Please refer to the official Oxfordshire Cross Country League website for further details regarding the fixtures, league rules, venue maps etc. https://oxonxc.org.uk/

It would be great to get as many of you as we can involved. As well as running we are also committed to providing marshals to Race no 2, 3 & 4.

If you’d like to sign up to run or volunteer (please see https://oxonxc.org.uk/news/index.php?viewnews=377 for the range of volunteer opportunities) then please give the following information to Matt Lock (as men’s captain) and Lindsey Smith for the ladies – lindseyr.smith21@gmail.com or messenger

Please note that latest updates and notices will be published on the WRRs Facebook page.

We need the following information:
First name Surname
DOB (date/month/year)
Age (i.e your age on 01/09/2019)
EA number
2nd claim club (if applicable)
Parental Consent (if under 18)
Photography consent

Dan is planning to run cross country training sessions again this year for anyone who wants to get themselves ready or perhaps try cross country for the first time before the races start.

All welcome
